While I was waiting for another TV show to come on, I was flipping through channels when I came across Histery Channel's "Decoding the Past," an episode that was made back in 2007. The episode was about 2012, go figure. I didn't watch very much of it, but I watched the part where they talked about an oracle named Merlin and his prophecies (which were a bunch of crap). I laughed when I watched the actor who played Merlin stumble around some random forest, occasionally staring at the sky for long periods of time. They said he predicted a cataclysm for the 20th century, but I'm pretty sure they shoehorned it into saying so. Also, the pole shift theory was brought up in there somewhere.
And then they got to their next oracle, Mother Shipton. At this point, I've reached my 1000th facepalm. Again, the actor who played her was stumbling around a mountain or something. Is this was the oracles did in the past? Stumble around the middle of nowhere and somehow get their prophecies to reach people? Anyway, they brought up her prophecy about future technology, despite the fact that said prophecies were proven to be fake.
I got tired of the History Channel's crap and promptly changed the channel to something more interesting.
Sigh. R.I.P. History Channel. Once a good channel, now filled with crap.
