I have read that the U.S. government is going to blow up the levee in Illinois is this true that the U.S. gave the ok for this?

Why is it conspiracy theory. As they said,

It's just news, not fake conspiracy theories. It sounds, really, but no, it's not. :-)

Edit: the same Reuters agency said:

A decision is imminent whether to blow a hole in a Mississippi river levee to relieve flood pressure on other levees and save the town of Cairo, Illinois, a U.S. government official said on Monday.

It doesn't sound like conspiracy theory.

I want to repeat. Someone mentioning the word HAARP in a sentence means either he is a kid younger than 15 or ripe for mental hospital. You cannot take any story serious that mentions HAARP.
Unless it is a scientific paper from HAARP itself.

No, actually, according to them, it could save an entire city from flooding (Cairo, IL). I hope so.

Did you read the article? They said that the farmland which would be flooded has about 90 homes on it and they have already been evacuated. The town of Cairo has about 2800 people who will be in danger from flooding if this isn't done.
It will cause lots of damage to the farms, but this would be considerably less than the damage to Cairo.
I only know what I read in the article, but I hope it won't be necessary since it would be devastating for those farmers.

There is nothing in this action to relate it to any conspiracy. It is an openly reported decision to minimize the danger to people and property.

If they've taken the action to purposely flood a vast area of land they haven't tossed a coin to do so - they've evaluated every angle, looked into their options and come to the conclusion that this is the option to take.

No, flooding doesn't cause seismic activity. It's nonsense. They probably misunderstood the information about fracking wells in Arkansas being a possible cause of the quakes they were having there. However, in fracking, they are forcibly injecting water into the wells and fracturing the rock. That is very different from water flowing over the ground.

TheGreatJuJu replied to a similar post in a thread I made… I asked if fracking could cause the New Madrid to go off, because there were non-stop earthquakes every day in Guy, Arkansas. He says probably not as Guy is about halfway across the state. (I'm about the same distance from the fault in the opposite direction) … All I know is when they halted fracking for a month, the earthquakes in Guy stopped. I heard a similar thing happened in a Texas town from pumping out oil, but it was nothing serious.

As I said, water flowing over the ground couldn't cause any seismic activity. Fracking is an entirely different thing. It is water forced into wells under high pressure to fracture the rock. The geologists in Arkansas thought that was a likely cause of the quakes there. It is too far from the New Madrid fault to cause any activity there.
What I was saying is that the people who dream up these nutty theories preobably misunderstood that situation and thought that water alone, rather than the water pressure, could cause earthquakes.
