Okay, I started to look up more information about the 2012 magnetic ribbon idea. I've done some more non-2012 related articles about this ribbon at the edge of our galaxy and the results are a bit terrifying. There's a website that provides and article about the "Local Fluff" and they say that the interaction it's having with our heliosphere completely throws scientists off and that it totally debunks 40 years of theory. They say that "charged particles from the solar wind are no longer a factor." http://www.ourplanettoday.com/at-system%E2%80%99s-edge-the-ibex-%E2%80%98ribbon%E2%80%99
Even NASA says that the Fluff is highly magnetized and that it's having a pretty big effect on our heliosphere. http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2009/23dec_voyager/ I remember making that post about the 2012 Equation Solved video way back. Some of the people here on the sight were saying that it wasn't highly magnetized at all. I'm starting to think that it's not so harmless. :( Time will tell I guess, but I'd like to see what you guys think.
