Ok so im a catholic but call myself christian because i dont see any diffrence , if google this it will tell me there the same…

So why do we need catholic and christian cant there be one

Catholicism is a broad term for the body of the Catholic faith, its theologies and doctrines, its liturgical, ethical, spiritual, and behavioral characteristics, as well as a religious people as a whole.

Christianity is a monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus as presented in canonical gospels and other New Testament writings. Adherents of the Christian faith are known as Christians.

We have a limited version of the bible. A simplified version.

I also do not think that Catholics take the first part of the bible literal in my country. Genesis and Noah are regarded as just a story nothing real in my country. I also think that only the older people believe that the devil exists and hell exists. The younger generation Catholics would laugh at you when you come out with your devil in my country.

Catholics have basically a loving god and Jesus but the devil and hell is pure fiction.

I don't know about other countries like Spain and Poland. They might be more strict.

Most Belgians I know don't go to church any-more here. Catholic religion is basically dead.
But to my surprise I did see young women going to church on a Sunday morning once. They did sound like Eastern European.

That Devil thing your talking about is false. Here in the 'States' I know all my catholic friends and people around here all believe in the devil/hell. Don't squeeze us all in one generality. That's their own personal belief about the younger generation, which i'm in

Also, some other religions took books out of thBible. We did not. We also do not believe in a "secret rapture"

The Catholic Church was the original Christian Church. Martin Luther disagreed (protested against, hence protestant) with some of the things rhe Church was doing, such as inventing purgatory and intinerant priests going around and selling indulgences, getting people tp pay money to get their deceased loved ones released from purgatory. He had other things he objected to , but I don't remember what they were. He broke off from the Church beginning the Protestant Reformation when he nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the Church in Wittenburg, Germany in 1517. Other protestant denominations arose from the original potestants, Lutheran, Calvinisrs, Puritans, and later, lots of others.
Henry VIII of England also broke away and started the Church of England because the Catholic Church wouldn't aloow him to divorce Catherine of Aragon and marry Anne Boleyn. He set it up with the King being the head of the Church of England.
Anyway, Catholics are Christians, but there are many other Christian denominations as well.

Catholicism is one of the main branches of Christianity. The two other branches are the Orthodox Church and the Protestants. Basically, it is wrong to even say that Catholics and Christians are different. All Catholics are Christians but not all Christians are Catholics. Basically, the one thing that makes Catholicism unique from the other branches is it's belief that the Pope holds power over the whole of the earthly church as a representative of Christ. And I'm Catholic too.
