Hello Im awesomeee you probaly know me , well duh , anyways lets get to the point alot of proponents connect the recent weather to their Un-Scientfic nonsence , first off , the people claiming this have no idea how the weather always is , the weather is sometimes above average sometimes average and sometimes below this changes all the time , its currently may , and we all know its tornado month i guess the proponets dont know that and treat these tornadoes rare , anyways bottom line is weather is fine , and it is not related to nonsence claims

Btw guys I am planning to make a weather page , i know you have one for HAARP but thats a whole other story , anyways Im not a good page editing guy so a little help would be nice , or you can give me a guide or somethin , since my grammer is not perfect when im done feel free check my mistakes and fix them for now I must go to sleep

That's okay and we'll help you out with it as needed. You should probably look at the way the other pages are set up and use that for your template.

You can put a premise statement at the top, something along the lines of:

Some people fear that current weather events are unprecedented and may be leading up to a catastrophe.

Then you go on to discuss the weather events and show that they have happened many times in the past.

At the end, summarize what you've shown in the body of the page.

You'll need sources for your information on past events in the Bibliography.

Try to stay away from wikipedia because that will not convince to many users because, well, it is wikipedia. Try to get nice scientific sites that back-up wikipedia if necessary.

Actually, if you can follow the citations in Wikipedia… That could lead you to their source of information. From there, it would be easier to check whether the information is reliable. And I wish you good luck. Unless, you need help editting?

I agree. I usually find the information more easily on Wikipedia, then go to their sources to make sure it's reliable. They have a good list of past F5 tornadoes. I haven't checked to see if their source is NOAA or who.

Yes, it is. Although there is another page with a similar name: "Weather", about the super-storms. You could make a new page or add what you want to the existing page about the weather.

It's looking good, Awesomeee. If you don't mind, I might add some info on past severe weather events, like the Great Hurricane of 1790 (the deadliest on record) and such. It helps when they hear about those that happened so long ago.

Wow! That is really wicked looking. I think that your page is a great idea, Awesomeee. So many recent weather events are being linked to the supposed 2012 doomsday. It's amazing how people can think the weather patterns are changing. I hear a lot that the Tornados this year are worse than they have ever been, and on a death toll note that might be right, but the Tornados have also been hitting highly populated areas. Not to mention, I have heard somewhere that they have only been keeping records on natural disasters like Tornados and flooding since the 50's. If that's the case, I think its unfounded of people to say this is the worst year ever for disasters since we have no way of knowing what kind of disasters they faced 100 years ago unless someone by chance made a record of it.

Anyway, I can't wait to read your page. It's nice to know that someone your age is concerned about getting the word out. Most teenagers wouldn't do that and are more concerned with playing video games or watching TV. Good job, Awesomeee.

Yeah Awesomeee I think that is great you are going to take on the weather! It seems to be one of the main things that freaks out the most people who usually aren't into doomsday crap.

I think it would be a great idea to mention the highest death-toll yet in a single tornado outbreak was in 1925. Also, it would be good to mention that the worst earthquake to ever hit Japan was the Great Kanto earthquake of 1923 (only 7.9, but more people were killed)… Another good one would be to mention the dust bowl/great depression (not a disaster, but the dust bowl hit us during our roughest times)… Just a few ideas! Keep up the great work!!!

It also appears as though a lot more volcanos are errupting lately. Iceland, yesterday Mexico, today Chile! That frightens me as well. I am terrified of Yellowstone errupting as it is!

We have about 50-70 volcanic eruptions per year. This has remained constant since 1960 (the time period that we have had comptrehensive reporting). Iceland, Mexico, and Chile have always been volcanically active. About 20 volcanoes are erupting at any given time worldwide.
Iceland has 130 volcanoes, 18 of which are still considered active. Grimsvotn is Iceland's MOST active volcane.
Mexico has about 20 active volcanoes. I haven't yet found the total number of volcanoes there. Popocatepetl has erupted about 20 times since 1662.
I didn't even count the number of active volcanoes in Chile, but it is a lot. It looks like 36 with eruptions in historic times and another 100 considered dormant. Puyehue has erupted 11 times since 1759.
None of this is at all unusual.
