Thanks, I may do the same! I watched his in depth show about the LHC, which he did to put the myths to rest. It's such a shame that girl in India who drank insecticide because of the hysteria about it didn't get to see him doing the show.
I hear India is a VERY superstitious country, who's media report this crap as FACT. Their media is like youtube, all woo no science. Such a shame, because these 'media' outlets don't realise just how far it can go for some people, and in some sad cases, it does claim lives.
The scary thing about this year is not the fictional doomsday, it's a 'doomsday' which could actually happen in the form of mass suicides. It has happened before in cults where people have commited mass suicide over far less than this. It has been building for a good few years now, and I worry the crescendo may happen if enough people get behind it, with enough fear. I have read several posts online, in all sorts of forums including those for people with mental health difficulties, saying they 'don't want to go on', and posts from pregnant women saying they should abort their child because they don't want them to be born during doomsday! How awful. It's such a shame, and it doesn't need to happen. People like Brian Cox can put this right.
