So i am a catholic and I belive in god , people always troll me on how theres no evidence and stuff and I cant take it anymore I cry , There was this one guy who said this:

I have lived for 120 years. I have no birth certificate, or anyone who can help prove my point. Would you believe me? No, because I have no proof. If there is no proof of truth, you assume it is a lie. You do not assume it is a truth because there is no proof of a lie… if you do, you are one sucker.

It totally made me mad , Its in the bible it says that people will try to make you lose you'r faith and if someones an athiest he cant just do this to a christian its not right , I respect everybody no matter if they belive in god or dont but if they spill it out like that then I hate them , and I also dont like how they mock the bible they dont even read it and they make nonsence about it!

Anyways is there anything i can do I feel really sad and my heart hurts in these moments.

You know what I think? This 'guy' who said that, against your religion, has his own opinion on the Bible and he told you what he thinks. You have another opinion. When you claim that your religion is right and all and blablabla, it's what you think. What an atheist thinks is that you are crazy and that the Bible is wrong.
It's how life works…
You don't need to feel bad about it.

Hey Awesomeee,
There is no reason to feel bad because not everyone believes what you do. There are billions of people who are not Catholics and many who are atheists. There is no reason to expect others to hold the same religious beliefs as you. I have no problem with religious people as long as they don't try to force their beliefs on me. Just live and let live, and don't worry about the beliefs of others.
If your faith is important to you, don't change because of what others believe.

What can I say that hasn't been said (and that won't offend)?

You could replace the religions in your story entirely and may end up falling foul of doing the very thing you don't want others to do to you, but not realize it because you're locked into one religious viewpoint.

I could - bordering on being a jerk - say that losing your faith may be one of key moments in your life, not because you'll no longer have a God (you may of course find an even stronger faith elsewhere, perhaps for a different deity entirely), but because you'll be able to see faith for what it is, and how it works.

It doesn't work for me, I don't need faith, but knowing how it's used I can see how it's useful to some people. And a 12 year old on the Internet isn't going to learn that the easy way. It might be better to not proclaim your faith as often as you perhaps do, not until you've learnt more about how the world works.

Awesomeee, if you're going to hang around on the Internet, you're going to come up against people who hold world-views directly opposed to your own, and some of these people are going to make no bones about telling you so. I have debated religion on numerous occasions over the last ten years or so, usually with Christians, and I make no apologies when I argue my position. As such, I'm probably one of those people you "hate."

Honestly, if you're so flimsy in what you believe that a so-called troll on the Internet is enough to get you this broken up about your faith, and you actually hate people who actively argue against you, then maybe you need to first reexamine your own foundations rather than complaining about people who think differently. As the Bible says, first remove the plank from your eye before removing the splinter from your brother's.

Be that as it may, as Alene states, your beliefs are no concern of mine unless you try to make them one. But if you enter into an open environment, you kinda have to expect opposition, no matter what your position. You'll learn this lesson many times as you get older.

You might want to sometime take a look at the Q&A in the Religion & Spirituality section on Yahoo Answers. It is full of Christians insulting atheists. It is the 2nd meanest category, right after Politics. Many of them think atheists are terrible and evil. I don't worry about their pathetic insults. They can think whatever they want. It doesn't disturb me. If you're going to be on the internet, you will find comments you don't like about pretty much everything, including your religion.

You find that kind of people in any religion or belief system. Some people are just very intolerant of anyone who isn't like them, or has different beliefs. I know you aren't like that.

First, if you are a true catholic, then you are not supposed to actually "hate" people. The bible states:

“But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

Secondly, I understand your frustration. As a Catholic, I feel the same way when someone cuts me down because of what I believe. What we have to remember is that even though people may say nasty things, we just have to keep on believing in what we feel is right and not listen to the slander. We can listen to both sides of the argument without becoming sad or mad because everyone has the choice in what they believe. Just stay strong and hold your head high and don't let anyone make you feel like what YOU believe is wrong.

Honestly, as an atheist I could just as easily be offended by Awesomeee and others insistence that god exists and one day Jesus will return. If you're prepared to voice your opinion, be prepared to let others voice theirs. If you're a "believer" then fine, I'm not, so if you state as fact that god exists and Jesus is going to return one day, I may have something to say about that. If you don't like it, don't raise the subject.

I don't believe that he stated he has a problem with others opinions. He's upset because someone called him a "sucker" for believing what he does. To be honest, that would make me upset too. No one has a right to judge anyone based on their religion. I have friends who do not believe in God but I never call them names for what they believe and they never do as well. There is a difference between stating opinions and outright being mean and/or rude to someone just because they believe in God.

As a Catholic, I feel the same way when someone cuts me down because of what I believe.

It is the constant flood of creationists spamming all science sites and trying to convert you that actually created this allergic reaction from other people that do not believe your religion. If they stop doing this then the allergic reaction will slow down over the next 10 years or so.

Most people actually don't care what you believe, as long as you do not preach to them and try to convert them especially not on sites that has absolutely nothing to do with religion like science sites.

You have to understand that for other people not part of your religion maybe Hindu, or something Pygmy religion, talking about Jesus is similar like someone trying to convert you to the eternal cookie-monster that created this multi-verse. It does not make any sense to them.

Awesomeee, it is essential to put certain guards about yourself if you don't want to lose your faith. Yes, I notice that certain atheists mock religion in particular as irrational. However, the opposite is also true, some Christians believe that atheists might as well be the devil's servants on earth. Now, in dealing with these extremists, do not stoop down to their level. It may be possible to share opinions but do remember that discussions must be calm-leveled. (This is almost a practical impossibility in religion however). So basically, just remain calm and tolerant.

Awesomeee, you live in the same world as the atheists. You have to learn how to coexist with them, peacefully. If any atheist is 'mocking' the catholicism, just say "I don't want your opinion. I'm happy with my religion. I'm happy with my God". No need to have a discussion with him, even though this is what he wants. You have your faith. If you don't want to lose it, keep it with you and don't make your religion a subject for discussion.

If any atheist is 'mocking' the catholicism, just say "I don't want your opinion. I'm happy with my religion. I'm happy with my God".

I think it would be more productive if you just say to these atheist: "It is perfectly OK for you not to believe in a god, I except the way you are." And stop.

Don't add stuff like "I will pray for you", or "Jesus died for you" or anything that is related to religion, don't even bother to defence your religion because you are adding fuel and to these people religion has no meaning whatsoever.

Everyone has pretty much said what I wanted to say. I agree with Obae, if an atheist insults you for believing in God, don't say anything about religion, just be the bigger person and walk away. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have been picked on plenty of times for being an atheist, I have even lost friends over it, some of my family members still try to pull out the 'I'll pray for you' quote. Awesomeee, don't let anyone break what you believe in, I don't care that you're religious, as long as you at least stand up for yourself in a positive way.

I used to read a lot of literature, and a friend of mine told me to check out the Satanic Bible. I've read the actual Bible before, been to church, etc. Religions fascinate me, regardless of the fact that I am a nonbeliever. I was reading the Satanic Bible one day, quietly to myself, and someone came up to me and said 'Do you believe in god?' I said 'no.' and then this guy got all of his friends, and told them that I'm going to hell, and that I'm a bad person because I don't believe in god. I stand up for myself no matter what - I will not make someone feel inadequate because they don't share the same beliefs as I do, UNTIL they start bad-mouthing me.

My point is Awesomeee, if you're that heartbroken that someone is insulting your religion, and you find yourself losing faith, maybe you need to get in contact with yourself and find out what YOU truly believe in. No one should break you of your stride that quickly.
