No. Which government?
The great thing about science is, it's true whether you believe in it or not.
Now that's what I call concise.
But Gary's right. To rely on a mystical Government to hide things only shows one thing: that whoever made the claim can't back it up with evidence, and must invent the idea that 'they' are hiding all the information. It's almost laughable.
Like Gary said, which government?
To even think something like this is a bit absurd. There are 6 billion (give or take a few digits) people on this planet, do you truly believe that hiding the apocalypse is something ANY government could do? I fell victim to the whole scam 'the government is lying to you!' but logically ask yourself how that would be possible. There are so many people who are amateurs as well as professionals that study the very things the 2012 claims are based on - volcanoes erupting, invisible planets, comets/asteroids, earthquakes (which you can't predict in the first place), ETC. If mankind was about to feel the wrath of some form, don't you think we'd know, with or without the government's help?
The numbers don't lie
They couldn't, because it's not easy for any government to hide, for example, a brown dwarf entering our solar system in 2012. The reason it's impossible is that in the world there are thousands of astronomical observatories, which are open to the public (actually, you could see Nibiru by naked eye).
The answer is simple: no, the government could not hide anything from six billion people.
That kind of question is just silly really. It proves whoever asked it either wants to stir up fear, or simply hasn't bothered reading the rest of this site. Most governments are too stupid to hide pretty mundane secrets, so I'd seriously doubt their ability to hide the end of the world.

No. A coverup that massive would be impossible. The people in the know would include the government and thousands of scientists and thousands of amateur hobbyists of various fields depending on how you believe the world is supposed to be destroyed. The government would have to hire thousands and thousands of people to watch these people to make sure they kept quiet, then have to hire thousands and thousands of people to watch the watchers, then have to hire thousands and thousands of people to watch the people watching the watchers.
The thing about conspiracies is that they have to remain small to actually work. Otherwise you get too many people with too many ideas of their own, and eventually it becomes so unstable that it breaks apart.
When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
The 'government' or governments don't have control over every single intelligent person on the planet, so the answer is no.
Why would the goverment hide anything? If we could see Nibiru anyways, i dont think they would try to cover it up.
Also you could ask your self, how come we know what's going on behind the walls of Area 51? Because people cant keep their mouths shut. When there's something they're not supposed to tell you, they do.

Maybe your government, but sure not mine.
They are that stupid that they can't even a government after one whole year.
Im more worried about oil companies than government
Im more worried about oil companies than government
Oil companies exist as they do because A) there is a huge demand for their products, and B) governments enable them to.
if-it-came-to-it-would-you-choose-energy-or-drinking-water.html
The title is most certainly a false dilemma, but it is to be said that there was a huge demand for their product… Look at the damage caused to the environment… now we have moved onto alternative power deisgns, this is most certainly the future because oil is of limited supply.. its only neccesary use in my eyes is to breach the atmosphere
now we have moved onto alternative power deisgns
Um, no, we haven't.
this is most certainly the future because oil is of limited supply..
Just because some technology exists and might be the future of energy, doesn't meant the world has moved to it yet. It has not. Over 80% of global energy demand is met by fossil fuels.
its only neccesary use in my eyes is to breach the atmosphere
With all due respect, you might need to adjust your perspective a bit.
fair enough, we havent moved onto alternative power, but its hopefully in the near future.

If by "in the near future" you mean within fifty years, maybe a century, sure. You have to take scale into consideration.
