The kid did not belive in 2012 But belived all the things about it were real , I cried at the end and was worried once again!

I was playing ROBLOX , And came across this kid who did not belive in 2012 roblox is a online game thats cool in my oppinion, He said something like this

'I dont belive in 2012 , But the movie 2012 is based on real facts'

Since he did not belive in 2012 i thought that i could explain him thats its psuedo-science

This is my conversation

Me: 2012 Is not based on facts its based on psuedo-science

Kid: It is based on facts the poles could switch

Me: No they cant go to 2012hoax.org they debunk it

Kid:That site is full of morons

Me: NASA Also debunked you'r pole switch

Kid: They had to say that they dont want people to worry

Me: Sigh you know thats a conspiracy theory

Kid: I Read a ton of books you idiot!

Me: Not all books are good! Youre probably gonna tell me the mayans predicted it

Kid: They did

Me: No they did not

Kid: I also read a ton of books it said it would be a start of a new era

Me: Name me one book

Yes, probably thousands. Most if not all 2012 proponents have a book out, it's how most of them make their money. Doesn't stop it being nonsense though.

This is a group for realists who believe that 2012 does not mark the end of the Earth. Also, we like cookies.

You shouldn't even try to convince this kid. You know, it's hard to change people's mind because they are completely into this crap, so they won't stop believing it until they are visited by a mayan god.
This kid has probably heard about 2012 from his/her parents or friends. Or maybe he has read on the Internet.
So, the conclusion is… don't waste your time with him/her. This user knows this site, he knows all the claims, and he also knows it's BS but he doesn't believe in the truth. It's almost impossible to change his opinion.

What you can do? Since you know that everything about the 2012 doomsday is totally bunk, just ignore him/them. Why would you trust a kid over thousands of legitimate scientists? The simple answer is that you shouldn't. Simple as that.

You know that the Mayans didn't predict any doomsday whatsoever, you even know that the Mayans that are alive today thinks that the idea of them prediciting a doomsday i totally false. So this must mean that you rather trust a kid then scientists and Mayans. That doesn't make sense and you know it.

I pm'ed the kid once again this was his reply:

i said, mayans NEVER said world would end. the calender said a "new era would begin" but there ARE some facts. the poles could switch. it could cause climate change. but probley wont end world

Actually, the calender itself never predicted anything. All the prediction claims are based on the Tortuguero monument 6 (which as far as I know is incomplete, and thus doesn't even mean much in the context of predictions). As far as I know geomagnetic pole reversal is an event that (A) takes several thousands of year to happen (at least I think that is the general oppinion of scientists) and (B) is expected to have little to none effect on weather or anything else associated with earths surface (like the crust to name another aspects), so I don't see what's confusing with that reply? All this is dealt with to boredom by now, and is located…

Assuming you don't believe in the Mayan nine support gods (and Awesomeee, we sure know what God you believe in) then why would this prophecy upset you? It's unclear what it means but it's very clear this prophecy involves Mayan mythology, and as you don't believe in their mythology or worship their gods, it should be meaningless to you.
