How come whenever I watch politics I get scared.
Is it normal to be scared of politics? The way they talk is just scary and about the laws.
Is politics suppose to be scary?
Since it affects your life, it can be scary. I was never scared by politics until the last few years. Since our site is non-political, I won't mention names or parties, but there are some really crazy people out there who are actually being considered as candidates.
At the same time is it anything to worry about?
I dont want my siblings to find about all of this.
No. It isn't anything terrible. It's just a matter of the two parties reaching an agreement. They know they will have to do it, but they're going to drag their heels as long as possible. I assume that if they don't reach a compromise, the President may invoke the 14th amendment, which says that the government cannot leave its bills unpaid. As the President said in his speech tonight, the debt ceiling has been raised many times in the past. There is really no valid reason for them balking. They just don't want big corporations to have to give up their tax breaks.
It's nothing to be afraid of and there will be no earthshaking results. They will reach a compromise, the government will issue the checks, and life will go on.
They're "balking" because the republicans want a short-term raise that will bring the issue up again before the 2012 election, and democrats want a long-term raise so they don't have to deal with it until after the election. It's all about who can point fingers and/or claim credit when the result has finally played out.
My question is, why would they even tell us? I thought governments were supposed to be all secret……
My question is, why would they even tell us?
Secret about what? 'They' can hide certain things related to economy, security, etc. But 'they' couldn't hide "Planet X". You have to be more specific.
No. There are 195 governments on Earth. Most of them don't agree on much of anything. Can you imagine all of them agreeing to keep something secret? Then consider the thousands of astronomers worldwide, most of whom don't work for any government. A celestial object that any of them could see certainly couldn't be kept a secret.
If you mean physically hide it from view, that is not even possible.
