This is really worrying me after seeing david c packs videos i mean isnt david cpack a false prophet too
The mark of the beast is just a biblical symbol of the apocalypse. And the Bible isn't meant to be a scientific book at all, but a book full with stories written in a very figurative language.
Austin;
We've already discussed the book of Revelation, as a 'prophetic' work in the original sense of the word. It was written as a message to the Christians living at the time, about the dangers of the Emperor (probably Domitian, possibly Nero).
The "mark of the beast" is a reference to gematria referencing Nero's name. It was numerology buried in an allegorical work written in code to escape Roman censors.
In other words, it may have been relevant to John of Patmos and the early Christian church, but it is not relevant to us today.

The Book of Revelations is too ambiguous to rule it as just that astrogeek. You may be right, but that view is not held by all scholars.
No, of course not. If you want seven opinions on Revelation, just ask three biblical scholars. The above post was my opinion of the book.

I think it would have been very fortunate for the Christianity and the western civilizaton as a whole if the Council of Carthage (397 AD) just would have left the Book of Revelation out of the biblical canon.
This particular book in the Bible has caused so much unnecessary grief for people, and continues to do so. I just wish they would have left it out altogether, maybe as a one of the apocryphal books. Revelations and it's apocalyptic influence wouldn't be anywhere near as widely known today among Christianity.
But this is really alternate history territory. I just keep wondering what later Christianity would have looked like without this particular apocalyptic vision?

I understand where you are coming from Marko, but if the Council believes it to be divinely inspired, they would have been disobeying had they left the book out. While most of it is a bit ambiguous, there are some gems in there. But lets be real, it's not only Revelations that gets twisted, it's plenty of the books, especially in the OT. For Christians, they just need trust God and not worry.
Ok what about convert to another religion, a religion that does not have a rapture?
Would that help?
Ok what about convert to another religion, a religion that does not have a rapture?
LOL.
That is also debatable…

Pastafarianism? (Although I can't remember if they have something like the Rapture or not…)
