I heard about these rumors when I was a little kid, right after the Y2K scare, as time passed I seen more and more hysteria about the day that is almost here, in 2009 I found this site and posted about a Doomsayer who threatened me and pulled a AK-47 on bar attendees outside of my work, In 2010 a man spent 700 dollars on rice and water in the grocery store in front of me, I always denounced all this was possible, but even at times I grew anxious and asked what if it is real? Every time I felt that way I logged into this site and read the articles, it made me feel a lot better, now I can't wait for all this shit to be over so they will play good stuff on History again. I wanted to say thank you to all those who have made and posted on this site, you have helped me get rid of some serious anxiety over this ignorant subject and I wouldn't be surprised if you saved other peoples lives, thank you again

Says it all really about the mentality of these people. Lots of people involved in it are quite seriously mentally ill, have stopped taking medication as prescribed and are actually in quite a bad state. I came across a site the other day that someone linked to here, which was not understandable at all. The guy was rambling on about how we all had to lie down simultaniously to stop the sun exploding.

In a way, I feel so sorry for people like that, mental illness is a serious thing that should never ever be allowed to get to that point. Lack of adequate support and treatment is partly to blame, along with religious fanaticism and psudoscience.

Illnesses like Skitzophrenea can be very dangerous if they are not treated, and can lead to delusions, drug use, alcoholism and paranoid behavour which can make the sufferer a danger to themselves and others. It is pretty sad really that a lot of sufferers get to this point.
