Hey all, my name is James, and I'm a 19 year old college student. As the title of this thread indicates, I too suffer from anxiety, and this 2012 nonsense has been haunting me since 2006. I was scared for my life, being only in middle school at the time, and a while later I discovered this site and have been coming here whenever my fears got the better of me. I like to think that I'm a logical guy. I make bad decisions, sure, and I blow some things out of proportion, but by and large I'd say I'm pretty even.
That said, this 2012 stuff's always in the back of my mind, and the reassurance of coming here is starting to wear thin (I was taught not to believe everything I see, but here it's a double-edged sword). At one point I wanted to commit suicide because the combination of this and some personal matters made me doubt if life was worth living. I honestly want to believe everything said here, but the paranoia in my brain is making me have my doubts. My overactive imagination (Blame my mother) is playing out scenarios of me waking up to seeing the world around me tear into pieces. Trees and buildings ablaze as my pets scream for help, and me knowing that I'm just as helpless as they are in the grand scheme of things.
I'm also a devout Christian who believes that only He knows when the world will end, not the angels nor Jesus himself, let alone the population of Earth. But this can be a double edged sword as well.
Enough of me making up a horror story. Maybe part of it is me not really understanding all of the astronomy and science that goes into these debunkings, and maybe part of it is my imagination sneaking bit by bit into my reality; me seeing things no one else sees. I just want to enjoy the holidays and not worry about these lies.
