Whats your opinions on the "Great Shift" the age of aquarius and 3 days of darkness?

Hey, a lot of spiritual people believe in a new age on 21st of December 2012. To name one really interesting site where they all believe this look up TheSpiritSceince Great Shift They believes that the world will shift into the Fifth dimension and we will go throw three days of Darkness and come out into some type of new "world" or new age with no memory maybe in the fourth / fifth dimension.

This has actually got me quite worried. Whats your thoughts on these groups of people and the theory?

No basis in science, no evidence, nothing to test, nothing to prove… a load of meaningless terms thrown together into vaguely intelligible English. In short, nothing to worry about.

OK, that so was a few minutes of my life wasted. Not a single scrap of science evident on the whole web site. Even the open letter to Obama about physics had no science at all in it. No science also means nothing to debunk.

It's a bunch of vague, nebulous, new age gibberish. Moreover, it's an unfalsifiable claim. How do you know if such a transformation happened or not?

For that reason I suspect a bunch of people might claim such a transformation occurred, as a way to save face when the world doesn't end on Friday.

My thoughts are: new age crud which won't mean diddly squat in the real world. And one other thing, "spirit" and "science" should never share the same website name, or even be in the same sentence in my books. "spirit" and "science" goes together like "ice cream" and "tomato sauce", as in, they don't go together.

As for this 3 days of darkness, load of bull, and has been debunked many times.

I don't really get from where the "three days of darkness" come from, but it's rather ridiculous and impossible, the sun will just go off for three days, then it will turn back on? This ain't a lamp.

We had this crap when comet Elenin was supposed to block out the sun for three days. People seem obsessed with this 3 days of darkness thing, methinks a certain holy book mentions it somewhere, and you know how that one gets used.

The catholic and christian bible make references to 3 days of Darkness.

Actually the three days of darkness we are suppose to enter a "Void" where we should meditate for 3 days. Thats what they say anyway.

But things like "passing through a 'void' for three days" and "emerging into the 'fifth dimension'" are complete gibberish.

Sorry to bring this up, but what does everyone think of "The Spirit Science" look them up, these are the people who originally got my fearing the 3 days of darkness.

I formed my opinion more on their claims of an impossible 3 days of darkness rather than their name to be honest.

I don't really care who claimed the 3 days of darkness, if it was "The Spirit Science", Santa Claus or the elves. Three days of darkness are impossible, a hoax.

Apparently this is catching on with the Vietnamese community aswell. They were explaining how we will be 4D instead of 3D.
It is quite annoying that many people find new ways to scare people into following them. From what I see, every religion, well religious cults, are trying to come with every little reason to obtain more followers. There was one story on some wierd Vietnamese shit, that said ppl will die, small portion will live an be Angels and stuff.
It's blowing out of proportion really, to a point where it makes no absolute sense, no matter why context, not even in a fictional context.

I seem to understand a lot of things, but fear of the unknown is what gets me. I hate it, but it helps me to talk about it. My apologies if I ramble on too much.

This is why I like secularism. People tend to move away from that sort of nonsense. Most Vietnamese people I know are pretty smart and some love science. I guess every community has their fools.

And asides from that… why are they bringing up angels and cultism based on Christianity? The Mayans weren't Christian.

I have no idea as to why that was brought up. Again, most likely YouTube nonsense?
But like I said, my view is that every religious cult out there is using the 2012 maya culture and morph it into their own beliefs in an attempt to grow followers? I mean I remember the y2k scare, (I was only 7 years old then) Apparently and according to radios, even Buddhist monks and stuff were believing in it. But again most likely just media taking advantage, because I am well aware that Buddhist do not believe in this non-sense, we're like in our own peaceful little world. Lol

The fact that I understand every little thing, about every possible theory out there as of right now, and can debunk them at will (3 years worth of reading this site will do that to you) I'm still having that little bit of fear at the back of my mind. It sucks. Maybe it's because of the hype..
