How disgusting is this? Children are innocent in the eyes of God according to the bible if you are a believer in God…….. Why are people so messed up in the head? I can't believe these people haven't been shot yet for picketing soldiers funerals let alone these poor children's funerals…… I am utterly disgusted after reading several articles on this!

I believe most of the ones of legal age are lawyers or studying to be one. They sue everyone they can claiming they took away their right to free speech. They just care about the money.

WBC are basically real-life internet trolls. They do this to get attention, that's all. When people stop reacting to them and give them the very attention that they actively seek, they will eventually go away.

It's not a matter of belief or of being rude (and you've just called their beliefs crap, remember…), it's a matter of 'hey look at us!', a matter of 'are you shouting at me? I better shout back louder at you!'. It's practically trolling, aside from their firmly held belief in it - getting a response from others whatever the cost.

They picket funerals because every news outlet cranks out 'WBC to picket funeral' articles, and everyone starts talking or indeed shouting at them. Actively getting worked up over their actions justifies their existence, to an extent. They'll keep doing it because it gets results, it gives them the attention they crave. In an ideal world, they would be little more than a footnote, a sentence reading 'the funerals were unfortunately marred by protesters' being all they deserve, if that.

You tut or you chuckle and you move on. You let them die off, not in a physical sense, but in terms of their impact on your life.

It even says in scripture that there is no knowledge in wickedness. i.e, don't try to figure out evil, trying to make sense of the senseless; You will only drive yourself crazy.

I understand why people feel compelled to ask such questions — and I truly feel for your outrage; but, you seriously have to ask yourself right after you ask the eternal question of "why?"; Do you really think that there is an answer out there that is so true and profound that it will make you say "Oh, now I get it — I understand it now!"?

I as a christian dont really think that God sent the killers to eliminate sin…i think that he was a deranged mind that wanted to discarge his strengh…But this is pure insanity…i wouldnt even give him jail for life…but a shooting squad right at his face…you cannot take childrens lives thats !….thats…intorerable…..Its worse that those are kids they had their live ahead of them and i am motivated to go to the army by them…they sleep and live on the graves of their fathers…the eternal guardians as they are called… And then something like this happens….this world isnt getting worse but the certain people who go insane are…

Just read this very thread. Is this how you want to be represented to the wider world, essentially wishing death unto others?

Are they arseholes? Sure. Do they deserve to be, quote, 'run into … with a car!'? You are no better than those you seek to distance yourselves from and it's bordering on sickening.

This forum has taken quite the turn in places (believe it or not, almost to the point of me just flat out leaving near the start of this month, of all times), and it's rash, emotion-centered posting that seems to be the problem. Just stop, take a break, construct a reasoned response and - what we should all be doing - get on with our lives.

The WBC evidently don't need to be a part of your life, so don't let them be. Don't concern yourselves with them.

You can't tar all religious people with the same brush. Sure, there are reprobates out there like Pat Robertaon and the Phelps family out there, but there are far more reigious people (myself included) who simply want to live out their lives loving and serving the deity (or deities) of their choice.

The extremists give the moderates and even the conservatives a bad name.

I wasn't referring to extremists. I was referring to people in this very thread and elsewhere on these boards who say they're 'true Christians' one minute and act in a rather 'unchristian' manner the next.

This is not about saying everyone who believes in Christ is the same as those in the WBC; it is about acting like you claim everyone else should act, about taking your own advice, about looking in the mirror once in a while, about hypocrisy.

Consider me an active atheist when Religion makes itself public. If you claim the moral high ground and act immoral, yeah, I'm going to be calling you out. But if you just get on with your life, as and I said, if you don't let that which angers you into your life, we can all get moving along.
