Saw this on Spaceweather-com. From today the 18th.
EMERGING SUNSPOT: "Solar activity has been low for weeks. Would adding a new sunspot change the situation? The answer is emerging over the sun's NE limb."
"The region is crackling with low-level C-class solar flares, which does not signal an significant uptick in solar activity. However, this sunspot group has only been visible for a few hours, so it might have potential for greater eruptions."
The greater eruptions part just made me want to get your thoughts. I don't believe in planets or anything hitting earth or some kind of "new world/4th dimension" stuff, nor do I believe the earth will end because of some old carvings on a busted rock. Just curious as to what this thing could be capable of doing to the earth? I know flares hit us all the time… but, could this be something to worry about? A possibly huge eruption? Do we know enough about the sun to know this won't affect the earth in some pretty terrible ways? Thanks guys.
