2012 NASA and Our Government

As most people know NASA has already released a video for the day after. Why would NASA release a video for the day after 4-5 days before hand when they could air it the day after? This worries me a bit because if it were to happen our government would cover it up. As the claims people make come nearer I am still a bit worried about Friday. Just looking for some help. Thanks

Apparently, according to the producer of the video, that was intentional. They released the video ahead of the 22nd as a way of saying "we are so confident about this, that we are releasing the video now".

Its called reassurance! Obviously based on the mail and emails NASA was receiving in conjunction with the 2012 Phenom, nasa took the lead to quell the minds of the worried by putting together this video. Its nothing more than that. Like Astrogeek said, Nasa is so confident that nothing will happen, so they went ahead and intentionally released ahead of the 22nd in hopes of satisfying the worried public. Nothing more, nothing less

Poor NASA and "Our Government." They just can't win. Ignore the hoax and you're covering it up. Speak out against it and you're covering it up.
Obviously they released it early because they were doing it to reassure those who are freaking out. After the 21st has passed, you'll know it was bogus and you won.t need reassurance.

The best way to deal with your scare is pretending that it already happened.
You subconscious will not now the difference between now and the future.
It is a trick to fake your subconscious into believing that nothing happened.

I am so scared! I also feel like they hide something from us.. They release a video so many days before and makes several other videos about it :-( I am really, really afraid :'(

Well don't be. They already said that we were going to be okay. You just have to trust NASA. The people who are saying otherwise don't have a goal in their lives.

All of which contain independently verifiable evidence for why the world will not end this week.

Is it really so hard to actually acknowledge the mountains of evidence in support of this week being as insignificant as any other? Is this all it takes to undo years of people on this site and sites like it telling people "No, the world won't end in 2012", the single concept of releasing something early?

Come on. The only thing you need to prepare for is the almost inevitable inclusion of Brussel Sprouts for Christmas dinner.

You guys have brussels sprouts for Christmas dinner? I never thought of that. Even though I love brussels sprouts, it never occurred to me to serve them on Christmas. I have just carried on what Mom always serve: turkey, dressing, potatoes and gravy, yams, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie. We generally have some other kind of pie as well and some version of a Jello dessert.

Ask yourself this: What purpose would it serve? What benefit would they gain by hiding the end of the world? If the world were ending, it would be ending for them too. There wouldn't be any point in trying to keep governments operating. They would be at home huddling with their families, just as we would be if it were real.

Its called confidence, even if NASA were hiding this "something" (omg there's that word again), any of the 1000s and 1000s of astronomers and scientists not associated with NASA, would sure as anything say something, in which the word would spread quickly, therefore making some cover up useless. I'm siding with NASA on this one :)

What government? Tell me what government? People often say the government is covering up something. If you're referring to the US government, fat chance. They can't even keep top secret CIA emails and classified State Department cables secret. Something always gets leaked.

Well, if Goverment is hiding the "end of the world", why would they? They'd die anyway, like the rest of us. So, that makes no sense at all. NASA and the Goverment aren't hiding anything. The 21st will be a normal day to everyone.

No one is hiding anything. People just LOVE to say that "the government is hiding" (insert some off the wall claim) They have for many years, and they will continue to do so for many years.

plus they went ahead and released it too because on the 22nd people will all know nothing happen and wont need to see the video people will stop worrying about it then so they went ahead and put it out to show people
