It makes me feel better that at least some places have reached the 'announced day' and nothing is happening. I know about the sunrise/sunset, but as the Mayans never actually predicted the end, I don't know that that is necessarily it.

Actually, in the end it is all hooey, so it really doesn't matter. But it's just comforting to me to see nothing happening.
