I feel really anoyed with the doomtards, so much so i would love to hunt them down and smack the living day lights out of them, im not the person i used to be espcially as tomorrow aproaches, I want to fall in love with space again, even though I dont know nothing about space, i used to be facinated with it, now because of the doomtards, I am so scared of our solar system, and other galaxys, any find scares that astronomers make :(
@ade32: This is a perfect opportunity to pick up a book or grab a telescope. I was also scared a while ago, and the greatest part of this nonsense was that I learned a great deal, and I have taken up doing research on my own. Space is nothing to fear once you learn how things operate up there. You begin to realize how big it is, and the chances of something catastrophic happening are so minute you will never worry again.
Where in the world is that? I thought it was just going by toorrow in general the 21st here in the UK and the states. Im really not thinkink straight you know because of all this. Jason i will try and over come my fear.
Ade32, I was a freaking nervous wreck 6 months ago, and I'm a father of 4. Long story short, the guys/gals on here inspired me to learn and its been a blessing. Once you understand the science, its puts things into perspective. Also, its really easy stuff to learn and enjoyable. I'm almost 40, and haven't been in college for a long time, so if i can do it any one can
Your transition actually amazed me.
I actually gave up on you because your posts were endless repetitively.
But look at you know. Not only strong but also so much knowledgeable.
Awwwsomne also made a big transition, and many many others.
This should be the biggest lesson of your life. Don't get mad, get even. These doomsayers have been at it for years, they'll give it a rest for a month or two after the 21st then they'll find something else to whine and fearmonger about. Your job is to become smart enough to be able to dismiss them over and over. What have you learned recently? Have you learned anything about the distances between objects in space? Gravity? Planetary motion?
The most important lesson is critical thinking. You must learn how to evaluate sources and subject each and every claim to intense scrutiny. I think bikenbeer said it in another post, but the best approach is to just start out thinking the claim is wrong. People are assholes. People are stupid. People lie. Get used to it. There are people out there who will drive you into a state of depression to generate a little money. There are people who will do the same thing to you just to make themselves feel big.
Don't let them do it to you again. Take this as a perfect example of how evil and or stupid some people can be, and remember this the next time someone tries to pollute your mind with pseudoscientific nonsense.
The great thing about science is, it's true whether you believe in it or not.
I think i may feel a lot better when tomorrow passes. :(
I thought they were just going by this side of the for the 21st December.
It was acctally said to be 21st demember 11:11am in UK London time zone (i am from uk also my friend, and i have much fear too) but soon ima go sleep, and wake up at 9am, look into the sky and think "what a lovely day it is and will be", THEN ima go christmas shoping. ENJOY life while you can. it will not end tomorrow, and if it did, then so what? we won't relise it, we won't know nothing, we can die any day, any time by anything… so chill, forget and live a nice life to what you want!
Trust me, im scared s**tless right now, but i am trying to forget about it, i try asking my parents what they think, they say "ohh who cares if it ends, it probley will" and it scares me because they don't help me and re-assure me that it won't happen, so im trying alone.
