What is next?

I have seen the question over and over, both here and on Facebook. "What's next for this site?"

I plan on taking a few days off from here. Not that I don't like you guys, but I have put a lot of time in here, and I just want a few days off.

After Christmas, I will be announcing a new site. This one is great, but it is already somewhat dated. :-) The new site will be debunking more doomsday and pseudoscience, but it will not be tied to a specific year. 2012hoax.org will redirect people to the new site, and I hope that several of the "crew" here will stick around to be a part of the new site.

More to follow after Christmas.

Astrogeek, do we relax the troll policy?
I don't think that it is needed that the policy is so strict any more.

I will also be less and less here.

I do not know if I will be on the new site or not.
But when needed I will be there :-)

I think we probably can relax the troll policy now. Usage is starting to drop way off. Yesterday (the 22nd) was half of the 21st, and the pace of forum posts is way down as well.

If you are interested in participating in the new site, you would be welcome. :-)

Perhaps we should allow guests to post on the forum, like we used to accept in the beggining. I don't think we will have much of a problem with them anymore. At least, that is what we all hope. :-)

Looking forward to helping with the new site. It's a good thing Christmas is coming up, otherwise I would have little to keep myself occupied right now, what with there being less need to spend long hours on the site. If it were summer, I could go out on the bike and have a few beers, but the weather right now is terrible!

I've spent years dealing with this stuff on Yahoo!Answers and it is doing my head in. In future I would like to devote more time to this site instead.

Sites like this area always going to be needed. Doomgeeks are already dividing into 2013 and 2015 groups. *eyeroll* As long as the site is here (or the next generation of this site) I'll be here to help out as well. Especially if the next "doomsday" is tied to my favorite subject, Ancient History ^_^

It is nice to have sites such as this one. With how easy it is now, due to the internet and social networking sites, debunking is something many will need. I have to admit my frustration level did rise as people seemed to be accepting each and every new prediction and date change after the 21st came and went. However, it is obvious your site and those who can help are still needed.
