Where did you hear this news? I think its very unlikely that its happening now, given that it is a proses that takes several hundred years.

If the poles are shifting… WHO CARES? it takes thousands of years to finish, humans on earth will not notice a difference. in the future compasses will need to be readjusted… but that's thousands of years from now.
Seriously, this stuff has already been covered over and over and over and over and over and over and over. A few times based on YOUR questions. The answers are going to be the same no matter how many times you ask.
Just as a by the way, I did a search for How it Works magazine articles, and I found nothing on Pole reversals or anything of scientific interest with the poles happening as we speak.

There was nothing in that magazine that said anything about pole reversal. The poles are not shifting. That's a myth. Scientists have in fact stated otherwise. Cal… please go find something better to do with your time. You are really starting to get on the nerves of people here. First off the pole in Africa? LOL… Africa? You sure you have your geography right? Again, go find something better to do with your time asides from posting completely wrong threads as this one.
LOL I missed the Africa thing. WTH? Since when was there a pole in Africa? forgive my geography, but isn't the North pole in the Canadian Arctic and the South pole is in Antarctica? A scientific magazine that the poles are shifting now… in Africa, where there is no magnetic pole (and any scientific magazine would know that)… seriously, no wonder I can't find the article on the "how it works website"

Its a normal process, and no harm will come to us on this planet. When the poles flip, it doesn't mean the earth won't have a magnetic field protecting it. Poles converge, and create new poles. Pole flipping doesn't mean the south becomes north and vice versa. Read the link, its very informative

Science27.com does not sound like real scientific when you read the articles.
I don't know about science27.com, but there explanation of how the poles shift and converge throughout history are good arguments. The science behind it is sound and it says in no way are pole "shifts" harmful because earth always has magnetic influences to protect our planet. It states the obvious, that our north poles are moving in the shape of a figure 8, and that the our strength is down 10%. I thought the article did a good job of explaining how poles move and converge and it was in no way "dubious". There are a few explanations of how the earths core work, but nothing concrete, so I thought this article put together a good arguement..

It is pseudo science.
One benefit our new found understanding is that it leads us to a clearer understanding of the cause of gravity. When matter contracts space, the space between objects becomes increasingly deformed "thinner", and hence space between the bodies will be 'lacking'. - Can it really be that simple?
This is one of his examples. This makes non scientific sense.
He is trying to create something logical but he clearly shows failure of understanding the basics in science.
Gotta like these "science" sites that claim to have solved all these pressing problems in the natural studies, and that they can just hand-wave over hundreds of years of "mainstream" science by simply claiming X, Y or Z isn't explained. It's also funny that these sorts of would-be revolutionary ideas almost always show up on fringe blogs and forums, but not in science journals. You'd think scientists in relevant fields would be clamoring to adopt such a momentous discovery and claim some of the credit, but for some reason we don't see that.
I'm sorry, but I have got to say this. I know some of you have been saying that Cal is just a kid who cannot get over being scared. But, in my opinion, he is just posting this stuff to stir up trouble. Trolling.
After seeing so many scared people and trolls around here, we can tell when someone is a troll or is just having a panic attack. We cannot call someone a troll simply because he posts a lot. Cal needs help, and needs to start reading what we tell him.
