I don't disagree with you. That sounds like a good idea. Let's do it.

Thanks Stephen,
I just went and watched it. You're right, it's hard to believe she is 80.

Isn't weekly world news like the worst tabloid rag there is?

I'm holding back. As I come from a very political background that has been marked by activism, it's incredibly difficult for me to hold back. I feel as there are serious falsehoods in this thread and I'll leave it at that.

I'll propose something different, lets agree to disagree and move back to future doomsday scams. :)

Re: US economy by gcarini1985gcarini1985, 02 Jan 2013 01:40

Preparing… and LOL at that executive. Nice to hear the guys who wrecked the economy are "preparing". And "how can we control whatever we can control" - That makes absolutely no sense. I don't pay much attention to these people. They don't have much of an understanding of what is going on around them.

Preparing is getting an education and learning how to make a difference, as well as gaining knowledge about the world around you. Not into hoarding food and believing hollywood scenarios.

As far as that mom I feel pity for the teenage boys… they are subjected to that paranoid crap.

You can catch more of these Doomsday preppers on that TV show… most of them are nuts and just woefully ignorant.

I agree with obaeyens. This is not a political site. I have my own political views and it's difficult to avoid jumping in here. Please just shut it off before we have to.

@Jason and Godzillaman
Cal hasn't done anything to be banned for. We try not to ban people just because they ask too many questions or they don't agree with us. Since we started this specifically to help scared people, we don't want to start acting like Nancy Lieder and sending them away. If Cal is bothering you, stop answering him.
I guess we have time for it because we're not dithering around about who should be banned. We're just consentrating on giving answers where needed, and Astrogeek is busy moving pages to the new site.

Awesome post, Jason!! And thank you for the kind words. You truly humble me with them.

I have spent the last 20 years of my life working, trying, failing and succeeding, and now I can safely say that everything is all paying off for me.

If someone had told me just two years ago that I would be starting my own business and be leasing office space for it by this time, I would have not believed them, but here I am now, even in a down economy, I am getting more contracts than I can shake a stick at.

Sure I am happy about my success, but there are times like now when I sit back and think about the journey, and especially at the darkest points of it, I not only feel incredibly blessed, but I also can see that same potential in so many others as well.

If a joker like me can do it, anyone can.

When I hear someone make excuses for their lot in life instead of taking responsibility and action, and I want to grab them and tell them that they do not have to accept stagnation, and can actually abstain from mediocrity.

The moment we rely on others for our happiness and prosperity, whether that someone else be the government, family, significant others, etc., is the moment we all surrender our sovereignty as individuals. That is how any nation/society truly loses it's freedoms. It does not have to be that way, and we ALL have the power within ourselves to break that destructive cycle.

Re: Do not Fret 2013. by SmartyPantzSmartyPantz, 02 Jan 2013 00:57

ROFL!

Gee… Let's go down that list shall we?

1. FACEBOOK TO SHUT DOWN JANUARY 15TH 2013! I wish.

2. END OF THE WORLD POSTPONED TO 2015! You already said what I would say there, Donovan.

3 OBAMA WILL SEEK THIRD TERM! ( a president can have no longer than 8 years in term) Correct, unless two thirds of Congress acts to repeal term limits for the Resident. Fat chance there.

4.PSY TO PERFORM AT SUPER BOWL! PSY should be banned form entering the US, but that is a whole other story.

5. HOW TO SELL YOUR SOUL TO THE DEVIL! You can't, it isn't yours to sell.

6. (this one seems funny) BAT BOY SAVES EARTH ON 12/21/2012! WTF!? People actually take this crap seriously?

Thanks for the grins, Donovan. May 2013 be a great year of new opportunities and wonderful experiences for you.

It is a brand new day and a brand new year.

Let's all just make it an awesome one!!

Blessings to you all!

SmartyPantz,
Since before the boy named "Sue."

Well... 2013 is now here. by SmartyPantzSmartyPantz, 02 Jan 2013 00:37

OK, humble but not-so-expert opinions, folks. If a financial collapse/war/other massive disaster were imminent, what would be the best thing to do to prepare? Not scared that anything like that is happening, just curious.

What has history told us re: surviving societal collapses?

Re: Slow news day I suppose? by VolcaronaVolcarona, 02 Jan 2013 00:11

You wouldn't happen to have that process for selling your soul, would you? I, errr, want to see if I could pull it off just so I could pull a fast one on the Devil and give it back to God. (I dunno, having weird thoughts lately.)

However, wouldn't mind seeing Psy at the Super Bowl. He kicked butt at Times Square last night.
