If someone reads the opening line of a blog stating "All New York Yankees players are stinky meanie-heads" then you have to expect that you will only get two types of responses: 1) Those who disagree 2) Smart people that know they ARE Meanie-heads

When 2012hoax makes a statement, like "Nancy Lieder is a beer short of a six-pack" we follow it up with evidence, e.g. "she gets messages in candy". This is diametrically opposed to your method of saying "how pathetic" and giving no evidence that it is.

The fact that you're actually taking time from your life to complain about something that you completely disagree with is idiocy in itself.

I don't have an ultimate answer about how to teach children in a school setting except that they need a balance of all things—including practical arts and skills which have nothing to do with media or computers. They should be taught, most importantly to question any authority and at least attempt to triangulate their way towards "truth." A teacher need not spend any time entertaining questions about some movie or books which offer a (disagreeable) picture of the future when metaphor, inductive reasoning, hypothesis, doubt, research, and a variety of physical activities are part of their every day curriculum.

What if someone reliable were to tell me that the onslaught of sensational images of destruction, desolation, and deathor books/games/websitestruly undermine the education a school is trying to give to its students? or undermine society? I would say that even a "reliable" source has missed something about our culture, or a segment of our society whose concerns and fears cannot be quelled by scientific or religious comfort food.

thing is, the family unit in the U.S. is weak and there's nothing you can do about it unless you're a father who can teach his own son some skills to use throughout life (for example) and always be accepting and loving no matter what happens.

You need evidence to prove theories that are about the end of the world.

Extra ordinary things needs extra ordinary evidence.
