You already have some good answers here, but I thought I would throw in my two cents worth. The whole Earth can't flood. There isn't enough water on Earth to do that. The most extreme projection I have seen is that a complete melting of all the glaciers and the South Polar ice cap might result in a total sea level rise of up to 70 meters in a time frame of about 100 years. Most projections are for a much smaller rise in sea level. This would flood coastal and low-lying areas only. Also, this is a long time frame as compared to a human lifespan, not a sudden occurrence. None of us are likely to see it.

According to NASA's David Morrison, even if all the ice glaciers did melt it would only pose a threat to those who are near the shore.

The earth won't flood in just 3 years. It has been perfectly fine for nearly 4 billion years. If it helps, take your 15 years and compare it to 4,000,000,000 years of the earth doing exactly what it will continue to do for billions more.

Well i dont think the whole earth will ever be flooded and not anytime soon. I know that the ocean is rising 44 mm a year so if that keep up at the same rate you wont see it much difference. But this is due to global warming an i dont think it would cover the whole earth. Some one els will probably have a better explanation as me.. Nothing in the genre will happen in 2012.
