<sigh>

I was really trying to help you. However, since you seem to think that what I wrote was "nothing", I'll suggest two things:

1) Go to The Fallacy Files, and familiarize yourself with the list of logical fallacies there. It's much more complete than the one I have here, simply because I only address some of the more common ones.

2) Go to your library and check out a book on informal logic and debate. Then read it.

If you do these two things, you will immediately begin to recognize bad arguments, not only in your own arguments, but in the arguments of others.

Once you have done these things, go back to Project Camelot, and begin reading through it again, and listening to their interviews. See how many logical fallacies you can spot.

"experience taught me that people who talks to much doesn't know much - not saying it's your case here but you wrote almost full screen on my 24" monitor and there is nothing written."

Oh? I suppose people who sit in their room all day ranting about conspiracies and "supposed" alien encounters don't know much, then? It seems we have two negatives here…

"this could go on and on and I really don't have time to debate with someone who is not ready yet - it's just too much work and once you'l know anyway."

Ready? Oh, I believe I'm ready to see people come to their senses and realize how much time they have wasted talking about secret government projects that anyone could bring up in a brain storming session. That, or I am ready to get the frogs and toads out of my pool before mating season…

Oh? I suppose the U.K. and Europe are kept in the dark about it, then? That is called betraying an ally and not very many people look to kindly to that.

Just because you think the government is hiding something means I should? Based on what facts? What could they be hiding that you know of? Do not bring up the occasional argument about Roswell, just about anyone with a brain as you say has forgotten or left it alone.

9/11…? Your kidding me, right? They are called "terrorists" for a reason you know.

Where are the aliens then? In my back yard? The local Ihop? The Wal-Mart I go to? Local GameStop? Perhaps even my pool which has a large population of frogs and toads in it? I suppose I should get someone to get them out then…

I just might look up that site when I want a few good laughs. As of later tonight, my laughs will come from stand-up comedians.

OK, I looked, and he did not say it was impossible. It is not impossible that I have a flying, fire-breathing dragon in my garage either, just rather unlikely.

I would like to point out the 'bait-and-switch' inherent in your argument. You claim that it is "not impossible" for various countries to be communicating with aliens, then segue into a list of global superpowers which you claim are "in contact", and that they have "secret programs", and that if we think the "government is not hiding anything" that it doesn't mean it's not happening.

This major fallacy in this argument is question-begging. You are the party making the positive claim, that 'world governments are in contact with aliens'. It is therefore your burden to show that your proposition is correct. As of this point you have not done so.

Instead you use this 'bait-and-switch' type of argument: that world governments, specifically the US, China and Russia "have some sorts of secrets programs", and that they are "hiding" this contact. Arranged in the standard form of informal logic, your argument goes like this:

p) If world governments were in contact with aliens they would conceal that contact.
p) China, Russia and the USA have officially secret programs.
c) Therefore China, Russia and the USA are in contact with aliens.

The fallacy here hinges on the existence of secret programs, which is a no-brainer. Every government, large or small, that I can think of has some secrets. Having a secret program does not validate your first premise, because there could be many 'secret' programs. Let us say that the U.S. government is developing a new weapon… let us imagine that they are developing a way to 'guide' a sniper bullet by laser. Not just aim it, but have the bullet course-correct like a guided missile. Such a development would be a major advantage on a battlefield. A well placed bullet can disable an aircraft or even take out a radio antenna on an armored vehicle. Such a program would be an official 'secret'. Here is a rather mundane example of a secret program that does not involve aliens.

Regardless of the existence of secret programs, your first premise is not shown to be true.

I would also like to point out the "no true scotsman" argument in the next phrase: "similarly to 911…people still believe that story about terrorists and stuff. Average intelligent human can't fall for that."

You dismiss the official 9/11 story, that terrorists crashed airplanes into the World Trade Center towers, and state that "Average intelligent human can't fall for that", which immediately throws into question the intelligence of anyone who disagrees with you.

The No True Scotsman fallacy takes the following form:

Argument: "No Scotsman eats pudding."
Rebuttal: "I am a Scotsman and I eat pudding."
Counter-Argument: "No true Scotsman eats pudding."

… which throws into question the status of the respondent as a "true scotsman".

Frankly, I've seen "Project Camelot", and I am underwhelmed. Let me just say that I am not surprised that you find their arguments convincing, considering how poor your skills at argument and informal logic actually are.

why is it impossible? it gives you as the country communicating with them huge benefit. Russia, USA, China they all are in contact and they all have some sorts of secrets programs. If you think government is not hiding anything because that's just something you can't believe it doesn't mean, it's not happening. similarly to 911…people still believe that story about terrorists and stuff. Average intelligent human can't fall for that.

with aliens it is a difficult topic and for me as well it was difficult to get the idea that they are here but unless you are willing to accept something new you won't find the truth.

btw one good site talking about UFO phenomenon is Project Camelot, have a look if you are interested.

My point exactly. If they were so common as claimed then my friend would have seen it on CNN articles or that there would have been some public announcement. To put it simply, if the Governments high tech planes, satelites, etc. aren't catching them, then how are people which "so happen" to have a video camera recording a supposed "UFO" or Alien Spacecraft in a certain area.

Another thing to point out is, most, if not all the stories sound the same. I guarantee if you look up some stories, 90% of them will mention them being in an area such as the forest or some canyon or even a place in the middle of nowhere. The other 10% is supposed lights in the sky or some fast moving object which can be easily mistaken for as a Stealth Fighter or a helicopter. I live close to an Air Force Base and they test all sorts of planes all the time.

This actually reminds me of an episode of UFO Hunters I watched out of curiosity. A family saw a claimed UFO or "Spacecraft" (I prefer to call them UFO's since it makes the message seem quicker. But I will go ahead) that flew near the street they were on and float above them for a few minutes and flew off. Of course, the UFO Hunters quickly jump to conclusions without trying to ask if anyone else was there with them. Of course, the family's story was that it was just them on a street, not one building had their lights on, not one pedestrian was walking, not one other car there next to theirs. Just them, alone in a ghost town, which is said to be active. Curfew? I doubt it. Anyway's, they had the idea that since the area was close to the Crawford Ranch, there would be jets flying by. But as UFO Hunters, they MUST assume it is a spacecraft of some sorts. So they instantly knew the air patrol limits the planes were and said that they don't go beyond the city limits (which wasn't far). What do they do next? Call the nearest Air Force Base and start asking them questions.

They ask the person who answered if they had anything odd to report. Since the person they called had sanity in him, he said no. But they made themselves laughingstocks when they addressed that they were "UFO Hunters" and asked, "We have a reason to believe a UFO was spotted near the base and into the town." Afterwords, the person on the other line hung up. Although one can assume though, that the person who answered had a good laugh. But of course, to make the show more interesting, the narrator says "They quickly hung up. It is greatly assumed they were hiding something."

But of course, it is an Air Force Base, they wont do calls for Q&A, especially if you ask strange questions about UFO's or some spacecraft.

Crazy people talk crazy. There are no aliens. "Disclosure" assumes that everybody is "in on it", which with 206 different world governments is patently impossible. Just because you don't trust YOUR government, doesn't mean that either they are hiding something or that you are being paranoid… or both. What they AREN'T hiding is Flying Saucers. Please, don't call them "UFOs" if you really mean "Alien Spacecraft". This is the reason that pilots don't report things they see anymore… fear they will be associated with crazy people claiming "UFOs are aliens".

I really see no reason to believe any type of claimed UFO story or ET sighting. Those can be easily faked than most people know.

Um… I can't help but noticed you mentioned V.
You are extremely misinformed…

NASA doesn't have the capability of hiding anything, since there are more amateur astronomers then there are of themselves. You can't put a blanket over the sky, and if aliens would exist they wouldn't fly around in little air crafts over our planet for no reason.

NASA's plans and data stretch much further into the future than 2012. If you think there is a huge conspiracy that is covering up a pending disaster in 2012 then heres a pillow, keep dreaming. (I've heard that terrible line used somewhere before)

You don't have to accept it at all but don't try to convince other people that you know more than anybody else - you know nothing will happen.

There are many other people who are talking about 2012 and they are very positive - for example David Wilcock.

Regarding NASA they are hiding something, of course - presence of ITs and UFOs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dw0-2TEYXV8&feature=player_embedded

Videos or photos from NASA were from time to time not censored and some of the truth got out but that's different topic for the moment even though it's related as they are here to help us to get over this transition in 2012…

Well, we certainly don't claim a '"happy" life for everyone.'… that's pretty much guaranteed not to happen.

So, you are 'pretty sure something' will happen, but you don't know what? Then what makes you 'pretty sure'? What do you think has happened before?

Yes, NASA knows about the sun's cycles and changes across the galaxy. They also happily share that information with pretty much whoever asks.

Case in point: Recently a post appeared in these forums claiming that in google sky, microsoft world-wide telescope, and wikisky, a spot of the sky had been 'censored' by NASA, because if you looked at the infrared layer, there was a black square in that spot. However, by going back to the source data from NASA, I was able to show that the area was not 'censored', and in fact had data in it on NASA's servers, and that the data was publicly available.

Recently the Solar Dynamics Observatory was launched, and a lot of people were pointing at that fact and saying "NASA knows about something happening with the sun, why else would they spend all of that money to launch this satellite?". Regardless of these doomsayers, as soon as the SDO started gathering data, the pictures were released to the public. Now, why would NASA do that if they were trying to hide something?

The point here is this: It is not up to us to "disprove" every crackpot theory that crops up. Our position is that the status quo will likely continue into 2012 and beyond. It is up to the people making the positive claim (i.e., "Something will happen, but I don't know what") to support their claims. Until you can provide a real argument and can support it, do not expect us to accept it.

Nothing is certain, neither doomsday, neither "happy" life for everyone. I'm pretty sure something will happen as something similar has happened before - what is it I can't say as I don't know as well. But NASA knows about sun's cycles and changes accross our galaxy.

As David Wilcock said (www.divinecosmos.com) if you think nothing is happening, here's a pillow, keep dreaming.

Have a good sleep everyone :)
