Well, you expect someone so obviously taken in by claims with zero evidence to provide evidence of her own claims? Where's the fun in that?

I seriously don't know what she is talking about. A cross-shaped asteroid? Er, ok, and so what?

I think Richard is right, and she probably is talking about P2010/A2, based on the links to that image that come up on the search terms "cross shaped asteroid". (e.g., http://newfriendsofjesus.blogspot.com/2010/02/cross-shaped-space-object-to-ponder.html )

She's obviously confused about the Maya, she's obviously confused about P2010/A2. I don't think her ideas have much merit.

No, that object is not a threat to us. It is interesting in that it shows the aftermath of a hyper-velocity collision. From the geology.com link … "The nucleus is estimated to be 460 feet in diameter." Therefore, even if it were to suddenly migrate out of the main belt (out between Mars and Jupiter) and turn inward and streak toward the earth, and hit us (all of which are impossible, by the way) it is not large enough to pose a serious threat unless it happened to make it down intact (a very remote possibility considering the recent impact probably fractured it, and the nucleus is most likely a pile of rubble) and hit an inhabited area.

Lets just say I'm not worried about this.

I think the nutjob is talking about this: http://geology.com/nasa/asteroid-collision/. Beats me how she manages to link this to Nibiru, but then again anything is possible in the mind of lunatic=) Seems like the "cross" she was talking about is the image of an asteroid collision (highly energetic event). That is supposed to happen in these belts, although we haven't witnessed it until now. Don't know why, but my guess would be that we are able to see more cosmmic events not suw to an increase in them per se, rather due to technological advancements from our site that gives us better oportunities to see what's happening around the universe.

That's just my guess, but you'd be better of getting an answer from TheGreatJuju or Astrogeek, since they acctually know what they are talking about

I found this comment on one of the articles about 2012 on the Discovery News website. The article was : http://news.discovery.com/earth/maya-doomsday-2012.html

So, what is this lady talking about???

Karen:
I have been watching both sides of this "scare" and I do think that little piece of information about the return of somebody from the sky has more importance than we may think. I don't think the world will end on 12-21-2010, either. But perhaps it is really no coincidence that just this month an object was discovered in our astroid belt, some 90 million miles away from us, that looks like a cross. Hmm? Has it been there all along and we somehow missed it, or did it just cycle into its orbit around the sun?

According to Sitchin, the last time the planet Nibiru passed through the solar system, it came some 50 years early. According to the stuff I have read of Sitchin's, it isn't due to arrive until sometime in 2050 or 2060. But, it came 50 years early last time around.

Perhaps, it won't be the physical end of the world, but the end of the world being alone in the universes. What if our ancestors are coming home to check on the kids? What if that was what the Myan Calender meant? In the time of galactic alignment with the sun Someone will return to the earth and the world will change for that event.

And if I remember some of the latest news I have seen, there is suppose to be some kind of division…on one line, the world ends (as the Myans viewed it) and another time line began.

Even if it IS the end of our physical world because of cataclysmic events, (which I don't believe for hopes sake) then I have lived in one of the most exciting times in the history of this world. Perhaps, the paths divide with what we actualy believe….hmmm?

I will be glad when the "Laws" of coincidence become a science in itself….too many coincidences make for a coming truth of some sort it seems.
