Doesn't mean people read more than three paragraphs in of course, but there we go.

Some people do, while some people don't. The biggest issue, I've recently discovered, with reading an article is that it's actually quite easy to overlook a "plausible" explanation, it's usually human impulse to look at the details of the situation, rather than a "plausible" explanation that may, or may not be correct, I believe that this is the issue with at least 'some' of the visitors.

Those who do not read the full paragraph are usually the doomsayers who just want something else to scream "The sky is falling!" over.

I am by no means saying that these are signs of an apocalypse, but I was wondering if anyone else does at least find it a little strange

Seeing as how others have failed to do so, I'll give you a direct answer to your real question. Whether it's natural, or not, it is quite strange that large amounts of species can simply die over night. Just because it's nothing new, doesn't make it any less strange.

In case someone is lost, here, you may find that certain occurrences are considered to be "strange", even when they're explained, even with a definitive answer, it's still strange how, and why it happened.

I personally think that it's strange that our Earth spins as fast as it does without flying off of it, in spite of knowing the facts of gravity, I still think that it's quite strange, so I see no reason as to why the sudden death of a large portion of a species wouldn't be strange.

My personal conclusion:
I, too, think that it's strange, even with knowing the explanation for the occurrence.

I knew that this question would show up here.

One million fish, apparently inexplicably dead, and I only heard about it on 2012hoax and didn't see it all over the news?… Open RSS feeds this morning to find the BBC reporting on it…

Though hopefully a one story wonder, there was a rational explanation a mere three paragraphs in. Doesn't mean people read more than three paragraphs in of course, but there we go.

I knew that this question would show up here. I've just added the Redondo Beach incident to the animal die-offs page.

I've never seen such a spectacle before

You probably mean that your attention has never been drawn to such events before because they were always just routine and never considered worthy of attention by the mainstream news media.

These die-offs always happen somewhere and there is no way to stop them.

http://www.nwhc.usgs.gov/mortality_events/ongoing.jsp

The link above is interesting, and shows the recent animal die-offs. Many events, huh? As you said, this is not a sign of any apocalypse. Maybe animal die-offs where you live are indeed not common, but everything has its first time, right?

I am by no means saying that these are signs of an apocalypse, but I was wondering if anyone else does at least find it a little strange that there have been three incidents where millions of different species of fish have floated to the surface, most recently the incident off the coast of Redondo Beach in California where millions of Sardines have died and floated to the surface and only a few months ago was the incident with the other fish in other areas of the world, and even the incident with the birds.

Again; I'm not saying that it's a sign of anything, but in the 30 years that I've been alive, I've never seen such a spectacle before and it all seems strange to me even though I'm not particularly worried by it.
